Winter building update

Winter building has been just that over the last few weeks with many dedicated and hard working helpers braving the weather to construct the new features at the park. Lots of work has been started at the top section including the constructing the start platform, final machine shaping of the fantastic 4X course, reshaping of the trail heads and adding extra features on the fire road. Also some seroius work has been started in the bottom bowl to increase the content - a new road gap(s) for Big Grin & reworked big table top, swooping berm & hip section to the bottom of Devils Dyke, a bigger and longer road gap for Love Humps plus a new monster ladder launch - approx 14ft tall & 20ft + to the lander! Still loads to do before the next uplift and RD1 of the DH race series - were hoping that most of it will be ridable soon - just depends on the weather........

Please remember that although we're in the middle of a big rebuild the park still remains open. X up is the only whole trail closed and the starts to few of the top section trails have been removed but still rideable.

We are pleased to able offer a VIP private uplift service which will run on any non event day (weekends & weekdays) using our new mini monster truck powered by a 4.2 V8 petrol engine - a mini duplicate trailer the same as that used on the monster trucks has been completed, which means faster loading/loading and no scratches on your bike. Prices will be £30 per rider per day. 10 riders min 16 riders max - sign up 15 riders and the 16th rider goes free!!. Due to the faster turn around times you should expect to get approx 20 + runs in day! Refreshments will available subject to demand. Please email sales@ukbikepark.com for date enquiries

Winter Building Projects & Plans

If youve been up to the park recently or been following the website here youll see that change has been afoot! Now that the big winter building project is under way were able to tell what you can be looking forward to over the coming year. Firstly for 2008 the park will boast a brand new 4x track! Sponsored by Torico Performance Cycles The NPS 4x Series has already confirmed the course for one of their national rounds (17th August) so make a note in your diary to be there as this'll be a huge weekend at the park! In the mean time well be running a mini series of 4x races this summer, so dust off those little hard tails as the first race is on the 10th May. Of course the track has not yet been finished yet, but the digger will be visiting again to complete the work by the end of March. While the digger is on site we're looking to improve other areas of the park so expect to see some changes around the Bus stop area and down in the Bowl at the bottom. Talking of sponsorship we are pleased to announce that our very own 'Ladder Ally' will now be sponsored by DAKINE and the whole DH Race Series this summer will be sponsored by 661!! This is really great news for the park as things will now be moving to the next level in terms of prizes and support. You can see from the pics on the site we have some new North Shore springing up, this is a direct replacement for a tired out 'Log Jam' trail. The new line will roughly follow the old trail and theme of low commitment Shore style fun (no 10 hucks here, sorry!) with eventually some trickier options branching off. Building is restricted to how much wood we can get hold of, we are currently waiting for more timber to complete the initial line. All this work takes time and money which brings us on to the subject of this years fees. As of January the 1st we are charging a little extra across the board for activities in the park, you can find more by following the links on our (also new) online payment system. As you can see, there's loads to look forward to up at the park over the year ahead. Remember, it's your continued support that allows us to keep up the improvements and create a great riding centre here in Dorset
